THE MAIN EVENT OF THE SUMMER - Buying a flat in our perfect location, after almost moving to two others earlier in the summer;
BUT ALSO:
- The Dennis Bergkamp testimonial game to open the new Arsenal stadium - I saw Johann Cruyff play!
- Taking our neice to Legoland, with Sasha, Eileen, Torbjorn, Kirsten and their kids;
- Walking over 3 miles to the British Library to research, most days;
- Wandering the streets of Paris all night long, after Arsenal was defeated in the Champions' League final, and watching the sunrise over Notre-Dame cathedral;
- Meeting George Whitman, owner of Shakespeare & Co bookshop on the banks of the Seine, one of my favourite places on earth, and getting an invitation to stay there the next time I'm in Paris;
- Hearing Mozzam Begg speaking about his experiences at the hands of his US captors in Guantanamo Bay, at a conference on Shakespeare and Terror;
- Seeing my friend Brenden's film at the Straight 8 competition in Leicester Square;
- Dancing at the Notting Hill Carnival with my wife and beloved cousins;
- Taking my father to see Arsenal vs Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions' League, the night before he flew to Zagreb in Croatia;
- Seeing both the opening night and the closing night of Coriolanus at Shakespeare's Globe;
- Being a Taxi Driver of my father's Jag, for my mother's business conference;
- Being evangelised to about the Landmark Forum;
- Seeing Rob Newman's comedy show at the Portobello Film Festival;
- Watching rubbish films with Mary in Stratford-upon-Avon (Snakes on a Plane, Nacho Libre, Basic Instinct II, The Moguls)
- Lecturing about the film Titus at Shakespeare's Globe;
- Many Bar-B-Q's, during the World Cup;
- Seeing Theo Walcott's debut game for Arsenal, crossing for a goal assist right in front of me;
- Accompanying Amanda to concerts by Madonna and the Eagles, and her buying me, for my birthday, seats to possibly the Rolling Stones' last-ever concert in London.

Little Shop of Horrors at the Actor’s Studio.
Roasting marshmallows over the fire at the Philips.
Camping with the Philips at camp meeting.
The odd bike ride down the greenway to the Laughing Moon for breakkie.
Enjoying any chance I can get on my motorcycle.
Enjoying any moment I was not at work!
